What areas can I use with my hall booking?
An agreed hall booking normally includes the main hall, the kitchen for appropriate food preparation and serving, the garden and the toilet facilities. The office is not included unless Lavender Hope has agreed this separately. Access always depends on the type of event and the terms confirmed for your booking.
How large is the hall and how many people can it hold?
The main hall is approximately 40ft long by 19ft wide. The ceiling is approximately 9ft 6in high, including the light fittings. The maximum capacity is 80 people standing or 64 people seated, depending on the layout and the activity.
What tables and chairs are available?
The hall has eight five-foot round tables and 64 chairs. Please tell us about your preferred layout in the booking form so that we can check it is practical and keeps entrances, exits and walkways clear.
What can I use in the kitchen?
The current kitchen is a domestic-style facility that can support refreshments, serving and suitable food preparation. It is not yet a commercial teaching kitchen. Please describe any cooking, catering or electrical equipment you plan to use so that Lavender Hope can confirm what is suitable and safe.
Can guests use the garden?
Yes, the garden may be included as part of an agreed booking. It is approximately 30ft by 9ft. Children must remain appropriately supervised, and all visitors must respect neighbouring residents, noise limits and the shared outdoor space. Garden use is subject to the booking agreement and weather conditions.
Is Deronda Hall accessible?
The building is wheelchair accessible and has accessible toilet facilities. Please tell us about any accessibility or practical requirements in the form so that we can discuss them with you.
Can I bring a bouncy castle or other large equipment?
Possibly, but you must discuss it with Lavender Hope before the booking is confirmed. A bouncy-castle provider must supply £10 million public liability insurance at least one week before the event. The equipment must have at least 1ft clearance above it, meet the provider's required side clearances and remain supervised by the hirer.
What does it cost and when do I pay?
Hall hire is £45 per hour for Deronda Estate residents and £55 per hour for everyone else. There is a £30 caretaker fee per booking, optional equipment is charged separately, and the £250 refundable security deposit is separate from the hire charge. A request remains provisional until Lavender Hope confirms it in writing. Payment timing will be confirmed with the final agreement; do not make or repeat a payment unless asked in writing.
Can I check the date or view the hall first?
Use the availability calendar below to see times already in use. Every request remains provisional until Lavender Hope confirms it. If you would like to discuss the space or arrange a viewing before applying, email
